Description of the course
The course is aimed at a detailed analysis of the principle of adjusting the heat clearance of the generators diesel valves using the Cummins KTA19 engine. In this course you will find detailed answers to a number of questions that are facing the ship mechanic when conducting maintenance of the generators diesel.
Having studied this course, you will understand the nature of the thermal expansion of intake and exhaust valves. Understand why the thermal gap on the inlet valves differs from the thermal gap of the exhaust and how it is justified. Detailed attention is paid to the consideration of the phases of gas distribution and the importance of properly setting the heat clearance in order to avoid operational difficulties during the operation of the generators diesel. On the example of the Cummins KTA 19 engine, the values of the heat gaps of the valves and the principle of operation of the fuel pump, the values of the heat gaps are considered. In the process of considering issues related to the pump, the principle of adjusting the nozzles was considered. Answers to the most common questions are given in the process of interviews about what a relationship between the state of fuel equipment and the temperature of exhaust gases.
This course will be indispensable for ship mechanics who so far have little experience in servicing the generators diesel. Having studied this course, you will have more understanding and confidence in performing standard tasks of regular maintenance of generators diesel.
