Description of the course This course will make it possible to deal with the features of the device, operation and maintenance of the fire extinguishing system and a water curtain on the vessels of the technical / offshore fleet. The design of fire monitors has been examined in detail, recommendations for technical care and maintenance based on the recommendations of the instructions for operation and real work experience. Most of the vessels of the technical / offshore fleets are equipped with fire extinguishing systems allowing to fight fire on oil tower, platforms and other offshore installations. Special fire pumps with different types of drives are used for these purposes. In this course, we consider the features of pumps with a drive from electric motors, from diesel engines and connected pumps through specialized couplings to ship diesel generators (in the case of diesel-electrolyte). We consider various operating modes of the system and the rules for its launch, stop and operate shut -off valves. In view of the complexity of the process of testing these systems and the lack of a suitable time, when the ship is on the project, ship mechanics, especially those who are just starting their careers, do not have experience in operation and maintenance of these systems, so in this course you will find information based on the experience of real operation of these fire extinguishing systems and water curtain.
